Hard PZT powder has low dielectric loss and high mechanical quality factor. It is mainly used in underwater acoustic transducer, loudspeaker, sensor and so on.

Soft PZT powder has high dielectric constant, electromechanical coupling coefficient and piezoelectric strain constant, which is mainly used in large displacement applications such as piezoelectric actuators.
